FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – On Friday the NFL issued a statement regarding “DeflateGate” and revealed an investigation will be led by Ted Wells and Jeff Pash.
“The goals of the investigation will be to determine the explanation for why footballs used in the game were not in compliance with the playing rules and specifically whether any noncompliance was the result of deliberate action,” says the NFL statement.
Wells and Pash have already interviewed 40 people but their investigation remains ongoing and there has been no timetable set for a resolution on the situation. The Patriots, which includes head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, have publicly denied altering the footballs used in the AFC title game, either before or during last Sunday’s game against the Colts.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are currently 1-point favorites over the Seahawks for Super Bowl XLIX, which will be played on Sunday, February 1, 2015.
