EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – The Jets could be in the market for a quarterback next month and they’ll reportedly work out one of the top signal-callers on Saturday.
The Jets will conduct a private workout with Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota on Saturday according to ESPN.com. The Jets currently own the No. 6 overall pick in next month’s NFL draft and have been linked to Mariota in various mock drafts done by national pundits and draft enthusiast.
New GM Mike Maccagnan flew cross country to watch Mariota’s pro day earlier this month and coach Todd Bowles is expected to be present for today’s workout with the former Duck. There’s speculation that the Jets would have to trade up in order to secure Mariota, who could be selected as high as No. 2 overall.
