UNIONDALE, NY (The Spread) – The Capitals-Islanders series will shift to Uniondale starting with Game 3 today at 12:00PM ET but that’s not necessary a good thing for New York.
The home team is now 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams, which includes a Capitals’ victory over the Islanders on Friday night in Washington D.C. That said, the Islanders are just 2-8 in their last 10 home games and 1-5 in their last six home games versus a team with a winning road record.
The Capitals also continue to have success in this series, winning nine of the last 13 meetings in New York. They’re also 47-21-3 in their last 71 games overall versus the Islanders.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Islanders are -137 money line favorites over the Capitals, who are +124 money line underdogs. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 5.5 goals.
