McGregor (16-2) has taken the UFC by storm, going 4-0 since debuting in April of 2013. However, it is his personality that gets as much attention as his fighting. He is a very dynamic striker that has shown an ability to keep the fight standing. Siver (22-9) is a striker as well, but doesn’t have the same length as his opponent. Siver has had some strong wins, but has struggled to get into the top tier of the division.
The latest odds according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv have McGregor as the overwhelming favorite to win tonight, as he is getting odds of -1200 to prevail. Siver has been given a money line of +700 to win. These two will meet in the main event tonight from Boston. The main card airs on Fox Sports 1 at 10PM ET.
McGregor should be the favorite, but the odds are getting out of control. While he should win, he hasn’t established himself as dominant enough to earn odds of this size. Siver has some talent and can kick with the best of them. If McGregor isn’t on his game, he could easily be upset. With that said, McGregor is the better striker on paper, mainly due to his length and accuracy. Look for him to find a way to KO Siver sometime in the first two rounds and earn his title shot.
