SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – San Francisco Giants fans are cheering their favorite players as the team’s victory parade gets going downtown amid a steady drizzle.
Double-decker buses with the players on top started rolling down Market Street to delirious cheering a little past noon Friday.
Young girls with cellphones held high shrieked as shortstop Brandon Crawford rolled by.
Outfielder Hunter Pence wearing a replica wrestling championship belt and mugging for the crowd threw his hands up and led several chants of, ”Let’s go, Giants!”
Confetti from cannons along the route rained down on the crowd. The parade was expected to end at City Hall for a rally scheduled for 2 p.m.
