Stewart has another surgery
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – It has been a tough 15 months for Tony Stewart and the 2015 season isn’t looking like it’s off to a great start.
Last week Stewart underwent surgery on the leg he broke during a sprint car race in Iowa in August of 2013. It was the fourth surgery he has had on the broken leg since the incident. Combined with the accidental death of another sprint car driver this past year, Stewart hasn’t had a lot of positive focus heading into next season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Stewart currently has 22/1 odds to win the 2015 Sprint Cup Championship. In terms of odds, there are 11 drivers with better odds to win going into the new season.
The last two seasons haven’t been kind to Stewart. He finished 29th in 2013 after missing the last 15 races of the season due to the broken leg. Last year he placed 26th in the standings and missed three races because of the tragic death. He last won the Sprint Cup title in 2011.
