2010 Georgia Bulldogs Odds to Win BCS National Championship

Georgia Season Odds

After losing a slew of offensive talent from last year’s squad, the Georgia Bulldogs hope to regroup and put together a successful 2009 season, even if they don’t compete for a national title.

Bet 2010 BCS National Championship Odds

Entering the 2008 college football season, Mark Richt’s Bulldogs were selected as preseason favorites to win a national title. But playing in the SEC once again proved to be a daunting task for a team with title hopes and UGA wound up with a 10-3 record, including a 6-2 mark in the SEC.

The Dawgs lost quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Knowshon Moreno, wideout Mohamed Massaquoi and defensive end Jarius Wynn to the NFL draft in April. That’s a ton of talent to lose in one season, but UGA will have wide receiver A.J. Green (963 receiving yards) and linebacker Rennie Curran (115 tackles, 3 sacks) back for another season.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING have listed the Bulldogs as 45/1 long shots to win the 2010 BCS National Championship. Considering the amount of talent the lost and the conference they play in, it makes sense that oddsmakers aren’t too keen on Georgia bringing home a title this season.

However, the offensive line has a full year under its belt and there’s massive excitement revolving around running back Caleb King entering the season. If quarterback Joe Cox can step up and fill the shoes of Stafford, maybe the Dawgs can surprise people this year and make a run of things in the SEC.
