Georgetown makes move into Top 25
WASHINGTON, DC (TheSpread) – The Georgetown Hoyas are cracking the top 25 rankings this week thanks to recently strong play. Are the Hoyas a real contender.
In the latest USA Today Top 25 poll that came out today, the Hoyas appeared at No. 22 after being unranked. Georgetown has won its last four games, including a 78-58 dominant showing against Villanova at home last week. Georgetown is currently the leader in the Big East at 6-2.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Georgetown currently has 200/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament this year. Kentucky is the current favorite to win it all with 1/1 odds, while Virginia has 15/2 odds.
The Hoyas are now 14-5 on the season. Georgetown is 10-1 at home, 2-2 on the road and 2-2 on a neutral floor while going 6-8-1 against the spread. All of Georgetown’s losses this year, aside from a 70-53 loss at Xavier have been by six points or less. Georgetown last won the NCAA Tournament in 1984 and their last appearance in a Final Four was in 2007.
