Utah strikes new deal w/Whittingham
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (TheSpread) – Kyle Whittingham had a strong season with Utah in 2014 and it has led to a new contract with the university.
The school announced late last week that it agreed to a new four-year deal with Whittingham that will keep him under contract with the school until 2018. He will now earn $2.6 million in 2015 and get a raise of $100,000 each season after.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Utah is heading into the 2015 season with 100/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs. Ohio State is the favorite to win it all next season, as the Buckeyes have 5/1 odds, while TCU has 15/2 odds.

Utah went 9-4 last season and 5-4 in the Pac-12. The Utes defeated Colorado State in the Las Vegas Bowl, 45-10, to cap the year. The Utes finished No. 22 in the final college football playoff rankings. Whittingham has now been with Utah for 11 seasons, going 85-43 in that time. The Utes have been in the Pac-12 for the last four seasons, with 2014 marking its best effort in the conference thus far.
