LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – With Brett Hundley back under center, will UCLA make a serious run at the 2015 FBS title this season?

Hundley is coming off a fantastic seasons and should have UCLA competing for the Pac-12 title this season, as well as a final four playoff berth. He’ll have help too, as Paul Perkins, Jordan Payton, Devin Lucien and Thomas Duarte all return to their respective skill positions.
Of course, there’s good news and bad news when it comes to the offensive line. The good news is that all five starters – Simon Goines, Scott Quessenberry, Jake Brendel, Alex Redmond and Caleb Benenoch – return. The bad news is that this same group had its hands full a year ago protecting Hundley in the pocket. The hope is that with a year under its belt that chemistry and cohesion won’t be an issue.
Defensively, UCLA returns seven starters including 2013 All-Conference linebacker Myles Jack, who is a jack of all trades (no pun intended) for coach Jim Mora. The entire secondary returns as well, as cornerbacks Fabian Moreau and Ishmael Adams, as well as safeties Anthony Jefferson and Randall Goforth comprise one of the strengths of the biggest strengths of the team.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, UCLA is currently 16/1 to win the 2015 college football FBS championship and is 11/4 to make the four-team playoff. The Bruins are 2/9, meanwhile, to miss the postseason entirely.
