GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – Brandon LaFell could be a dark horse to win the Super Bowl MVP at Super Bowl XLIX. What do oddsmakers think this New England receiver will do on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, LaFell has been given 66/1 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP this weekend. His over/under for receiving yards is at 52.5, while his receptions total is set at 4 and his odds of scoring a TD are set at +150. Super Bowl XLIX will be played on Sunday, Feb. 1 from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona at 6:30PM ET.
LaFell has been third on the team in most receiving categories this season. He caught a total of 74 passes for 953 yards with seven touchdowns. His average during the regular season was 59.6 yards per game. The fifth-year receiver caught five passes for 62 yards with a touchdown against the Ravens in the divisional playoffs and then had four receptions for 28 yards without a score against the Colts in the AFC Championship.
Of the 16 games that LaFell has seen action in this season, he has had at least 53 receiving yards in 11 games, while catching at least four passes in 14 of the 16 games, eclipsing four receptions in eight of them. LaFell has also had at least a touchdown in six games. The Patriots will be facing the top passing defense in all of football this Sunday, as Seattle allowed just 185.6 yards per game through the air.
