Total drops half point for SBXLIX
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – With kickoff still four days away, the total for Super Bowl XLIX between the Patriots and Seahawks has dropped a half point.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the line for Sunday’s game has stayed at Patriots -1 but the total has gone from 48 down to 47.5. Most books opened this game at Seattle -3 before taking it down to a pick’em on the night of “Championship Sunday,” while the total opened at 48.
If you’re looking for reasons to back the line movement, there are a few trends that support the combined score falling under the total. For example, the under is 4-1 in the Patriots’ last five Super Bowl games and 4-1 in their last five games in February (which coincides with the unders in the Super Bowl).
The under is also 4-1 in the Seahawks’ last five games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game and is 11-5 in their last 16 games versus a team with a winning record.
