No contract extension for Eli?
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – Ben Roethlisberger just received a contract extension with the Steelers but it appears as though Eli Manning won’t be receiving a new deal from his team.
Sources tell ESPN New York that the Giants are comfortable letting Manning play out the final year of his contract. The two sides reportedly had conversations about a new deal but don’t appear to be close to an agreement.
Manning reportedly wants more than the five-year, $99 million contract extension that Roethlisberger received from the Steelers last week. The team doesn’t appear to be ready to make that commitment at this point and thus, they’ll make Manning play his way into a new deal in 2015.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants are currently 25/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl.
