2015 NFC South Division Odds to Win
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – After two sub-.500 seasons, the Falcons are now co-favorites along with the Panthers to win the NFC South in 2015-16.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons and Panthers are both 2/1, respectively, to win the NFC South Division this season. The Saints, meanwhile, are 9/4, while the Buccaneers are the long shots at 15/2.
The Falcons hired a new coach in Dan Quinn and had a productive offseason while trying to improve their defense. The veteran additions of Brooks Reed, Adrian Clayborn, Justin Durant and O’Brien Schofield should help immensely, as well as the selections of Vic Beasley, Jalen Collins and Grady Jarrett via the draft. With Matt Ryan and Julio Jones back on offense and improved defense, Atlanta should contend for the division title this season.
As for Carolina, the Panthers already had the defense but needed to add to an offense that was inconsistent a year ago. The team added Jarrett Boykin, Michael Oher, Ted Ginn Jr. and Jonathan Martin in free agency and then selected receiver Devin Funchess and offensive tackle Daryl Williams via the draft. Despite the additions, there will be plenty of pressure on Cam Newton to carry the offense once again.
2015 NFC South Division Odds to Win
Atlanta Falcons 2/1
Carolina Panthers 2/1
New Orleans Saints 9/4
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 15/2
