NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A person familiar with the decision says the Tennessee Titans have informed veteran safety Bernard Pollard he will be released.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday night because the Titans have not announced the move yet, which the nine-year veteran asked for last month.
The Tennessean first reported the move.
Pollard, who turned 30 in December, spent the past two seasons with Tennessee. He suffered a season-ending Achilles injury that limited him to five games last season, and he was scheduled to make $3.1 million this season. He signed a two-year deal with the Titans after making a career-high 142 tackles for Tennessee in 2013.
The veteran tweeted on Monday thanks to the fans and people he’s met in Nashville. ”(hash)31 is out,” Pollard wrote.
