FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) – Receiver Julio Jones says his right foot has fully recovered from surgery last October, adding that he will be 100 percent when the Atlanta Falcons host New Orleans in the season opener.
Jones showed his breakaway speed at the end of practice late Thursday afternoon when he ran past cornerback Desmond Trufant to catch a 40-yard pass from quarterback Matt Ryan.
Though he’s not sure if the Falcons will let him play in preseason games next month, Jones’ primary concern is making sure he has no setbacks.
Jones broke his right foot – an injury similar to one he suffered at the NFL combine in 2011 – in a Week 5 home loss to the New York Jets last season.
