Browns-Bengals’ spread jumps up
CLEVELAND, OH (The Spread) – With Johnny Manziel set to make his first NFL start, the line in the Bengals-Browns game has jumped in favor of the home team.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Browns are now 2.5-point home favorites over the Bengals for today’s 1:00PM ET kickoff. What’s interesting is that his game opened as a pick’em but when Manziel was announced the starter, the line moved up to 1.5. But as we get closer to the start time, the line continues to be bet up.
What’s even more interesting when you look at this matchup is that 57% of public bettors are currently backing the underdog Bengals. Thus, there might be some wiseguy action on this game in support of Manziel and the Browns.
The trends back Cleveland as well, as the home team is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams. The Bengals are also 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games versus the Browns and 1-4 ATS in their last five trips to Cleveland. That said, the underdog is a profitable 12-3-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.
