Tomas Scheckter is ready for yet another visit to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as he’ll make his sixth straight appearance at the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500, which occurs this Sunday, May 25. Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog have established Scheckter’s odds to win at 30/1.

Scheckter will start in the 11th position at Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. Other drivers and IndyCar observers often consider Scheckter as reckless and erratic, but that type of aggressive effort has given him some moderate success in the past. He’s certainly not afraid of pushing the turns and making big moves in order to secure key positioning.
Scheckter comes into this year’s Indy 500 with a great deal of experience. He’s raced in every Indy 500 since 2002, with his best effort coming in 2003 when he finished fourth. He had a very productive run last year too, when he placed 7th after starting in the 10th position.
Even at 30/1 odds, it isn’t too much of a reach to think Scheckter could produce a pretty good showing this weekend. But when reviewing his previous history, he seems to be a boom or bust driver. He’s finished in the top 7 twice in six years (2003, 2007), but in the other four Indy 500 races he didn’t even crack the top 15. His aggressive style could lead to a decent payday in driver-to-driver wagers, but note he could also flame out trying to make too big of moves on the track.
