Tony Kanaan Odds
Tony Kanaan is no stranger to the Indianapolis 500 and his odds support that claim. At this year’s 92nd running of the Indy 500, oddsmakers at Online Sports Book Bodog have set Kanaan’s odds to win at 5/1.
Bet on Tony Kanaan in the 2008 Indianapolis 500
With an average four-lap qualifying time of 226.688mph, Kanaan earned the sixth position at Sunday’s race. He’s considered one of the favorites to push pole position winner Scott Dixon and 4/1 odds-to-win-favorite Dan Wheldon given his experience of the track and in IRL.
Kanaan has had a decent amount of success in previous Indy 500 races. His best finish was in 2004 when he took second place after starting in the fifth position. The year before that he finished third after starting in the 2nd position. At last year’s 500, Kanaan took a disappointing 12th place after starting in the 2nd position.
Kanaan is a veteran of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway track, which is a big reason why oddsmakers have established him at 5/1 odds to win. In the past five Indy 500 races, Kanaan hasn’t finished lower than 12th (2007) and has finished in the top 5 in three of those appearances. He could easily challenge Dixon, Wheldon and Helio Castroneves and should be considered in most driver-to-driver prop bets depending on the matchup.
