Will Power Odds
Will Power will have to have a career-best showing at the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 to beat some of the top competition. Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog clearly don’t think he’s capable of pulling off a big upset and have listed Power’s odds of winning at 100/1.
Bet on Will Power in the 2008 Indianapolis 500
Power qualified for this year’s Indy 500 starting grid despite crashing in a practice session. He’ll start in 23rd place in the 33-car grid, which is a disappointment for Power, who figured his team could easily make the top 22. Considering he crashed, he’s fortunate to have even made the top 33 and will have to regain his confidence.
This will be Power’s first appearance at the Indy 500. Last year he finished fourth in the Champ Cup World Series standings for Team Australia with wins at Las Vegas and Toronto. He also recorded an eight top-five and nine top-10 finishes in last year’s Champ Cup.
Despite having a great deal of success in the Champ Cup last year, Power remains a long shot to have a great showing at Sunday’s Indy 500. He’s not familiar with the track, the event and is coming off a practice session crash. Outside of maybe a driver-to-driver matchup with Oriol Servia, who also has 100/1 odds to win, Power isn’t a great play this year.
