Scott Dixon Odds
Scott Dixon claimed the pole position for the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 and his odds for Sunday’s race certainly reflect his starting position. Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog have set Dixon’s odds to win the 2008 Indy 500 at 11/4.
Bet on Scott Dixon in the 2008 Indianapolis 500
As previously noted, Dixon will start in the pole position for Sunday’s race, making him one of the clear cut favorites to win the event. But even with his great starting position, Dixon is still going to face stiff competition, namely from Dan Wheldon (4/1), Helio Castroneves (5/1) and Tony Kanaan (5/1).
Dixon has vast experience at the Indianapolis 500 as he’s competed at the past five events since 2003. In those five outings, Dixon finished as high as fourth in three of those races (2003, 2006, 2007) and 14th in back-to-back years in 2004 and 2005. In each of the three times he finished fourth, he led at one point during the race, including leading for 15 laps in 2003 and 11 in last year’s Indy 500.
Dixon certainly has a lot going for him heading into Sunday’s race. He not only has the pole position, but also has raced well in three of the past five Indy 500 events. He’s certainly one of the best bets to win this Sunday.
