NBA Draft Prop Odds
With the Boston Celtics’ Game 6 win over the Los Angeles Lakers concluding the 2008 NBA Season, the basketball world will now turn to the draft, which takes place on Thursday June 26th.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com is offering prop odds for the draft, including odds for which player will be the first overall pick.
The Chicago Bulls overcame poor odds to win last month’s NBA Lottery and will pick first in the draft. It appears that they’ve narrowed their choices down to either Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley, but the NBA Draft is never a sure thing.
As a freshmen, Rose, a dynamic point guard, led the No. 1 seeded Memphis Tigers to the 2008 NCAA Men’s Final Four and the NCAA Championship Game. But unfortunately Rose and the Tigers lost to the University of Kansas, 75-68 in overtime.
The 6-8 Beasley led Kansas State to the 2008 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament as the No. 11 seed in the Midwest Region. He helped them beat the No. 6 seeded USC Trojans when he scored 23 points and 11 rebounds, but K-State fell to Wisconsin in the second round.
So which player will the Bulls choose? While oddsmakers like both players, Rose is listed as the favorite to be the Bulls pick at 1-6 odds, but there seems to be some value in Beasley, who is listed at 3-1.
