Updated PGA Odds
The 2008 PGA Championship has entered Round 3, with J.B. Holmes establishing a one-stroke lead at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have updated the odds to win.
Despite leading at the PGA Championship, Holmes is not the favorite to win at Oakland Hills Country Club. Oddsmakers have established Sergio Garcia as the favorite to win at 7/1. The other top favorites are Justin Rose (8/1) and Phil Mickelson 8/1.
The American-born Holmes has totaled a score of 139, which is good for a one under par. One reason why Holmes isn’t favored to win is that his best finish at the PGA Championship occurred in 2006, when he tied for 37th overall. The four-year pro has four professional wins and two PGA Tour wins, but has never placed first at any of the four championships.
At this year’s PGA Championship, Holmes currently has a one-stroke lead on Charlie Wi, Ben Curtis and Justin Rose, who are at even with a score of 140. David Toms and Henrik Stenson each are +1 with a total score of 141.
The favorite Garcia currently sits at two over par, while Mickelson is at three over par. Before the start of the PGA Championship, Mickelson was favored to win at 10/1, while Garcia’s odds were set at 14/1. Below are the updated odds.
