Gayego Odds
After Behindatthebar’s sudden exit prior to the 2008 Preakness Stakes Gayego found himself dropping from a 12/1 odds to win middle of the road horse to a 8/1 odds to win favorite. Despite the sudden drop in payout don’t expect Gayego to have much for Big Brown.
It is true that Gaygo is the only other horse besides Big Brown in the 2008 Preakness field that ran at the Kentucky Derby and that horses who run the Derby historically do well at the Preakness. But it is also true that Gaygo’s best times and overall record are worse than Big Brown’s.
Bet on Gayego in the 2008 Preakness Stakes
Where most experts agree that the short amount of time to recover since the Kentucky Derby won’t hurt Big Brown they also agree that the lack of rest will certainly hurt Gayego.
Gayego drew post number 12 for the 133rd running of the Preakness Stakes which makes for a wide path around the track if he can’t get out front early.
If Gaygo’s odds remain steady he offers a possible decent payout if used as a choice in some exotic wagers.
