Tiger’s Odds to Win
The 2008 U.S. Open Championship kicks off Thursday, June 12 at 7:00 a.m. on the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. Tiger Woods will compete in the annual event and oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog have made him the favorite to win at 5/2 odds.

Woods has won two U.S. Open Championships this decade, but hasn’t won the event since 2002. He came close last year, finishing tied for second with Jim Furyk and behind U.S. Open winner Angel Cabrera of Argentina. In fact, no American golfer has won the event in four years.
Apparently oddsmakers are not concerned about the fact that Woods has not played competitively since finishing second in the Masters behind Trevor Immelman and having surgery on his knee. Word from Torrey Pines is that Woods’ knee is feeling fine and appeared untroubled by the injury while preparing for the U.S. Open earlier this week.
At 5/2 odds, Woods is the clear cut favorite to win the U.S. Open, but he’ll assumingly face stiff competition from Phil Mickelson, whose odds have been established at 7/1.
