Cozzetti Preakness Stakes Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – After skipping the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, 2012 Preakness Stakes contender Cozzetti is viewed as a long shot to win this Saturday’s race from Pimlico.
Oddsmakers have installed Cozzetti as a 25/1 long shot to win the Preakness Stakes, giving him the same odds as Optimizer and Pretension. Bodemeister is the currently favorite at 2/1 odds while the 2012 Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another is 7/2 to win at Pimlico Race Course.
Cozzetti is coming off a fourth place finish at the Grade I Arkansas Derby on April 14. He also placed third at the Grade II Tampa Bay Derby on March 10 and finished fourth at the Kitten’s Joy at Gulfstream Park on January 21. His lone victory came at a MSW at Churchill Downs back in November of last year.
