Diana Stakes at Saratoga Predictions
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (The Spread) – Which contenders will finish in the money today at the 2015 Diana Stakes from Saratoga Race Course?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, My Miss Sophia is a 5/2 odds favorite to win the Diana States tonight at 6:07PM ET. Stephanie’s Kitten has the next best odds at 7/2 while Tepin is 3/1 and Hard Not to Like is 5/1. Lady Lara is also 10/1 while Kitten’s Queen has the longest odds at 15/1.
To Win: Hard Not to Like (5/1)
The aptly named Hard Not to Like has been on a tear recently, finishing in the money in six straight starts. The 6-year-old mare is coming off a win in the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes, a third-place showing in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley and a second-place finish in the Grade 3 Endeavour Stakes. She also placed third in the Ballston Spa on August 24 of 2013, which took place at Saratoga.
Place: Stephanie’s Kitten (7/2)
Stephanie’s Kitten finished fourth in the Grade 2 New York Stakes on June 5 but ran well in her five previous starts. In fact, she placed either first or second in each of those five starts, including victories in the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational and the Grade 3 Hillsborough Stakes. After a bump in the road at the New York Stakes, look for Stephanie’s Kitten to rebound this evening.
Show: Tepin (3/1)
Tepin hasn’t lost since October 16 of last year when she finished eighth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks. Since that point, she won an allowance on March 21, the Grade 2 Distaff Turf Mile on May 2 and the Grade 1 Just A Game on June 6. Distance could be an issue this evening (she looks to run best at 1 mile), but why not roll the dice on Tepin to finish in the money coming off three straight wins?
