2016 Belmont Stakes Results & Payouts
In what turned out to be an incredible finish at Belmont Park on Saturday, Creator beat Destin by a nose in the 2016 Belmont Stakes.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Creator was 10/1 to win the Belmont Stakes the morning of the race, while Destin was 6/1. Exaggerator, who never made a push to win at Belmont Park on Saturday, finished outside of the money for the first time in 2016’s triple crown races. In fact, Exaggerator finished 11th when the Belmont Stakes was all said and done.
At 10/1 odds, Creator wasn’t a total sleeper but after finishing 13th in the Kentucky Derby, he was a surprise winner at Belmont Park nonetheless. His biggest win before Saturday’s Belmont Stakes came on April 16 when he won the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby.
Destin, who finished sixth in the Kentucky Derby but did not run in the Preakness, finished second while Lani, who ran in both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, finihsed in the money for the first time in the triple crown races.
