Always Dreaming won the 2017 Kentucky Derby, which paid out big if you had the rest of the horses that finished in the money.
Morning Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Classic Empire was listed as a 4/1 favorite to win the Kentucky Derby as of 11:00AM ET this morning. McCraken and Always Dreaming, meanwhile, had the next-best odds at 5/1, respectively, followed by Irish War Cry at 6/1.
At one point on Saturday morning, Always Dreaming and Irish War Cry were 14/5 favorites, while Classic Empire was 5/1. But just as the odds danced all week leading up to the race, the odds were constantly shifting the morning of the Kentucky Derby as well.
Always Dreaming finished first, followed by Lookin At Lee and Battle of Midway. Classic Empire, which was favored at one point during the week, finished fourth, followed by Pratical Joke, Tapwrit, Gunnevera, McCraken, Gormley, Irish War Cry, Hence, Untrapped, Girvin, Patch, J Boys Echo, Sonneteer, Fast and Accurate, Irap and State of Honor. Thunder Snow did not finish the race after coming out of his post position injured.
