Oscars Prediction: Best Actor
Even though he’s yet to win one, Leonardo DiCaprio looks like a lock to finally take home an Oscar at tonight’s 88th Academy Awards ceremony.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv currently list DiCaprio as a massive 1/100 favorite to win the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant. This is DiCaprio’s fifth Academy Award nomination and should be the first time he takes home an Oscar.
He was also nominated for Best Actor last year for his role in The Wolf of Wall Street, as well as for Best Actor in 2007 for Blood Diamond. In 2005 DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor for The Aviator and in 1994 he was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
DiCaprio is up against Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Matt Damon (The Martian), and Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) for Best Actor at tonight’s 8:00PM ET Academy Awards. Redmayne and Fassbender are both 14/1, while Damon is 25/1 and Cranston is 50/1.
