In one of the best matchups on the Week 12 schedule, Brett Favre and the New York Jets due battle with the undefeated Tennessee Titans at LP Field on Saturday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Jets a +5 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 40.5 total points.
Tennessee has posted an astonishing 9-0-1 mark against the spread this year and is 5-0 straight up in its last five games. The Titans are also 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games at LP Field, while the total has gone under in seven of Tennessee’s last 8 games when playing at home against the Jets.
At 7-3, the Jets are no pushovers, but the Titans lead them in most of the big statistical categories. Tennessee has allowed fewer points per game (13.1 to 22.1) and average more yards on the ground (132.3 to 125.1). They also have shown a great knack for limiting teams through the air, yielding just 186.7 passing yards per game.
Favre has done a phenomenal job transforming the Jets back into a contender this year, but the Titans will be the best team (and defense) he’s faced all year. He’s known to throw an interception or two, which doesn’t bode well playing against a very opportunistic Tennessee defense. You can’t turn the ball over against the Titans and expect to win. The Jets will meet their match on Sunday and the Titans will likely stay unbeaten.
