Says trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. about his stunning thoroughbred: "I’m confident in this horse because of the way he’s run his races and the level of competition he’s faced. He has become so much better than any of them. And, he has trained and raced in cool weather, so he is still a pretty fresh horse. I really don’t expect to do much more than to give him one maintenance breeze and go on to the Belmont Stakes. This horse has an aura about him, and people who will come out to watch him race will be in for a thrill."

How well has Big Brown done in recent races? In late March, he won the Grade 1 Florida Derby, earning $600,000. Then at the prestigious Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, Big Brown crushed the competition and wound up with $1,451,800 in earnings before. Then he shredded the field at the Preakness Stakes on May 17.

There’s not much left to say about Big Brown. He’s hands down the best horse entering the Belmont Stakes and obviously oddsmakers feel the same way after giving him 2/7 odds to win. Barring a collapse, he’s a shoe in to win the 2008 Triple Crown.
