2006 Oscars: Odds to win Best Actress
Brie Larson received her first Academy Awards nomination for her role in Room and she’s also favored to take home the Oscar for Best Actress.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Larson is the clear favorite at -600 odds to win the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role after starring in Room. It’s the first time in her career that she’s been nominated for an Oscar and she’s favored after winning in the same category at the Golden Globes.
Who is Larson’s competition? Bovada.lv currently lists Saoirse Ronan at 6/1 to win the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Brooklyn. Jennifer Lawrence is also 9/1 to win for Joy while Cate Blanchett is 12/1 for Carol. Charlotte Rampling currently has the longest odds to win the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in 45 Years.
This will be Blanchett’s sixth Oscar nomination. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2014 for Blue Jasmine and also won in the same category in 2005 for The Aviator. Ronan, meanwhile, was nominated in 2008 for Best Actress in Atonement, but did not win.
