Norman Favored to Win
Greg Norman, who didn’t even have odds to win listed at the start of the 2008 British Open – now finds himself as the favorite to win heading into Sunday’s final round.
Oddsmakers from all of the top online sportsbooks have Norman listed as a 3/1 favorite to win the 2008 British Open championship. Norman concluded Saturday’s round at +2 which gives him a 2 stroke lead over his nearest competitor K.J. Choi. Norman is currently listed at 3/1 at Bodog and SBG Global.
At the start of this years British Open Norman was one of the over 100 golfers that didn’t even have individual odds to win listed. When play began he was among the golfers placed in the field pool at 10/1. Only about 40-45 golfers were given individual odds to win prior to this weekends tournament.
He wasn’t given individual odds until Friday. When he was taken out of the pool and onto the board Greg Norman opened betting at 10/1.
Norman should start the day Sunday as a co-favorite along side Padraig Harrington who is also listed at 3/1. K.J. Choi is close by at 4/1 odds to win
Padraig Harrington is the defending champion of this event. He won the 2007 British Open last year with a -7 under par 277.

Sunday’s final round of the 2008 British Open Championship will begin at 6am in the eastern time zone of the United States.
TNT will carry live coverage from 6am until 8am and ESPN will broadcast the remainder of the coverage from 8am until 1:30pm eastern at the conclusion of the final round.
