Free Pick: HOU/CLEV
The Cleveland Browns look to win their second straight game when they take on AFC foe the Houston Texans this Sunday at Cleveland Browns stadium.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Browns a -3 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 50 total points.
Under quarterback Brady Quinn, the Browns have been a more productive ball club. They beat the Bills on Monday night in Week 11 and nearly beat the Broncos in Week 10 on a Thursday. Even though Quinn will be playing with a stress fracture in one of his fingers, he’s not expected to miss any time. As for the Texans, quarterback Matt Schaub will miss yet another game due to a knee injury.
Cleveland is 18-7 against the spread in its last 25 games, while the over in four of the Browns’ last six games have gone over the total. Houston, meanwhile, is just 2-6 against the spread in its last eight games on the road and 0-5 straight in its last five games on the road.
Both of these teams have struggled keeping opponents out of the end zone this year, as Cleveland is surrendering an average of 22.1 points a game, while Houston is giving up 28.7. Ironically, both of these teams are struggling this year, but not struggling to put up points as the Browns are averaging 20.1 PPG, compared to the 23.6 PPG the Texans are scoring. With two decent offenses and two suspect defenses, the over looks good in this game.
