Female tennis has been dominated by Williams for some time and she has owned Sharapova when these two meet head-to-head. Of 20 meetings, Williams has won 18 of them, including all three when they meet at the Australian Open. Sharapova’s last win over Serena came in 2004.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Williams is the clear favorite to win this match, as she has been given a money line of -450 to prevail. Sharapova has been given odds of +350 to win this quarterfinal.

Williams is seeking her seventh Australian Open title and she has been rolling thus far in the tournament despite some injury concerns coming in. Williams has yet to drop a set in the event and she has only dropped eight total games in her last three matches. Sharapova is looking to win her second Australian Open title. She has also been strong thus far, but did drop a set in the third round to Lauren Davis. She is also coming off a 7-5, 7-5 win over Belinda Bencic in the fourth round.
