Colonel John Odds
Colonel John is one of the long shots to win the 2008 Breeders’ Cup, which takes place Saturday October 25.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have established Colonel John’s odds at 10/1.

Colonel John earned victories at the Santa Anita Derby and Travers Stakes earlier this year, so he has had some recent success. Co-owner Sue Casner has certainly been pleased with Colonel John’s production this year. “He’s doing well, he looks good, he’s feeling well, and I think he’s spitting fire,” Casner said.
Colonel John is a multiple Grade 1 winner and is use to the distance that the Classic will provide. Experts will note that he does well on any track surface and has even won on dirt, although he won’t have to worry about that this Saturday in Santa Anita, which is a turf surface.
Colonel John doesn’t stand out like Casino Drive, Go Between and Raven’s Pass, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t make a good value bet. He’ll have to start strong though, because he doesn’t fair well after slow starts. This could be a true dark horse (no pun intended) this Saturday because there’s not a lot of buzz around him entering the Cup.
