DaTara will have his work cut out for him at the 2008 Belmont Stakes on Saturday. He’s considered a long shot to upstage Big Brown’s attempt at claiming horseracing’s Triple Crown.
DaTara opened at 40/1 odds to win the 2008 Belmont Stakes according oddsmakers at online sportsbook Bodog when they were released a couple weeks ago. As we count down the final hours to post time he is currently listed at 30/1.

Bet on the 140th Belmont Stakes
DaTara jumped out to a great start in the Barbaro Stakes at Pimlico on Preakness Day and was the pacesetter, but gave way to Roman Emperor in the final strides. Clearly oddsmakers don’t feel that DaTara is a value at the Belmont Stakes and it’s going to take a career-best effort to upset favorites Big Brown and Casino Drive.
