German Grand Prix Predictions
The Formula 1 Series will wave the green flag on the German Grand Prix early on Sunday morning. Here’s the three drivers we think will contend for the victory.
The German Grand Prix takes place Sunday at 9:10AM ET from Hockenheimring. The race is a 190-mile contest that will run 67 laps around the track. According to oddsmakers, Lewis Hamilton is the favorite to win, as he is getting +160 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Sebastian Vettel (+175) and Valtteri Bottas (+700).
51101 Lewis Hamilton +160
Hamilton is a three-time winner of this race, last claiming the victory in 2016. Lewis Hamilton comes into tonight’s race in need of a win as he has moved to second in the point standings. He has three wins this year and two runner-up finishes, but has finished outside the top 2 five times this year. Still, Hamilton is the defending series champ and should be the man to beat on Sunday. This has been his track.
51102 Sebastian Vettel +175
Vettel was able to claim this victory in 2013. He comes into the weekend as the points leader right now with four victories to his credit. He has finished in the top 5 in all but one race this year, but has been outside the top 2 five different times. These races usually come down to Hamilton and Vettel, but I think Hamilton has the edge in this track. If he should mess up, then look to Vettel to score the win.
51106 Daniel Ricciardo +1200
If you are looking for a longshot, Ricciardo is your man. He has two wins in 2018, most of anyone outside of Hamilton and Vettel. He also has been in the top 5 in all but three races this year. Typically he is in the mix unless he has a car issue. Ricciardo is the guy that can capitalize if Vettel and Hamilton have any bad luck or struggles. He puts himself in position to win more than any other driver outside the top 2.
