Hamilton is the two-time defending champion of this race. He also is the two-time defending series champion by a wide margin. Hamilton placed second in the first race of 2016.
Rosberg finished third in this race last year and second in 2014. He has finished second in the series the last two years but started 2016 with a win in the opening race.
Vettel won this race in 2012 and 2013. A four-time series champion, Vettel placed third last season and he finished third in the opening race of the 2016 season.
