British Grand Prix Picks
The 2017 British Grand Prix waves the green flag early on Sunday morning. Here are our picks for the next race in the Formula 1 Season.
The British Grand Prix takes place Sunday at 8AM ET from Silverstone. The race is a 190-mile contest that will run 52 laps around the track. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Lewis Hamilton is the favorite to win this race, as he has -250 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Sebastian Vettel (+350) and Kimi Raikkonen (+550).
Lewis Hamilton returns to his home track this weekend and is the clear favorite. He is the three-time defending champion of this race and should prevail again on Sunday, as long as he avoids a wreck or car trouble. Hamilton has three wins this year, but has finished outside the top 3 in his last two races. He needs to bounce back today to get back in the mix for the points lead.
Sebastian Vettel is the points leader this season and been the most consistent driver in the series. Vettel has three wins this year with four runner-up finishes. He hasn’t finished worse than fourth in any of the nine races in 2017. He also is a former winner of the British Grand Prix. While Vettel isn’t the favorite, he is the car that should compete with Hamilton straight up.
After a slow start, Valtteri Bottas has now settled in nicely to his new team at Mercedes. He comes into Sunday with +1100 odds to win, but I think he has good value as a potential winner if Hamilton and Vettel can’t get it done. Bottas has two wins this year, second to Vettel and Hamilton for most in 2017. He also has finished in the top 2 in the last three races. He has a lot of momentum entering Sunday’s race.
