Offseason Additions:
The team decided not to purse Baron Davis and then failed to lure Elton Brand to Golden State so they signed Corey Maggette to a big contract and also acquired Marcus Williams for a conditional first round pick. Williams was previously with the New Jersey Nets.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
There’s no question that the Warriors are talented with a roster that features Maggette, Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson, Al Harrison and Brandan Wright, but they lack pop. Ellis is the star now that Davis is gone, but can he be the main guy?
But Davis will miss some time after injury his ankle following a moped injury, so it’s uncertain at this point if he’ll be able to lead when he eventually does get back to the hardwood. This team could make a postseason run, but things have to come together quickly.
