According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Dixon is a 6/1 favorite to win this race, while four others have 9/1 odds as to win. The Indianapolis 500 takes place on Sunday at 11AM ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Dixon has completed a wire-to-wire victory before, as he started on the pole in 2008 and came away with his only Indy 500 victory. He also held the pole position in 2015 and finished fourth. Dixon has placed in the top-5 of this race six different times. He was runner-up in 2007 and 20012. Last year saw Dixon finish eighth.
Dixon is the current points leader in the IndyCar series for 2017 despite not having a victory to his credit. He has finished second in two races and third in another. He hasn’t finished worse than fifth in any race this year. Dixon has won multiple races every season since becoming a full-time driver in IndyCar.
