According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Carpenter is listed at 22/1 to win Sunday’s Indy 500. Scott Dixon is the favorite with 9/2 odd while Simon Pagenaud and Will Power each have 11/2 odds. This race will take place on Sunday at Noon ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Carpenter is competing in the Indianapolis 500 for the 12th time this Sunday. He has only cracked the top 5 one time in those 12 races, which was a fifth-place finish in 2008. Carpenter started on the pole in 2013 and 2014, but finished 10th in 2013 and 27th in 2014. This year, Carpenter will start from the 12th position. He also started 12th in 2006 and ended up 11th in that race.
Carpenter is no longer a full-time driver in the IndyCar series. His last full season was back in 2013, when he finished 16th in the standings. He competed in six races in 2014, which did include a win at Texas Motor Speedway. The Indianapolis 500 will be Carpenter’s first race of 2015.
