Alonso’s Indy 500 Odds

A former Formula 1 champion, will Fernando Alonso be able to make a run at the Indianapolis 500 title this Sunday?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Alonso is listed with 10/1 odds to win the Indianapolis 500. Scott Dixon is a 6/1 favorite while four others have 9/1 odds. The Indianapolis 500 takes place on Sunday at 11AM ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Bet on the Indianapolis 500

Alonso is making his first appearance in the IndyCar Series on Sunday. He has a lot of open-wheel experience, though, as he competed in Formula 1 series from 2001-today. He won the series championship in 2005 and 2006. However, he hasn’t won a race in the series since 2013.

It’s hard to know what to expect from Alonso, but he has looked good in qualifying. Alonso will start 5th on Sunday as he drives for the McLaren Honda Andretti team. Alonso never did grab a win in the United States while with Formula 1, but he should be plenty comfortable at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
