Munoz is competing in the Indy 500 for the third time in his career this Sunday. He has had two strong showings previously, finishing second in his 2013 debut and then placing fourth in 2014. Munoz qualified 11th for this race, which is his worst starting position thus far. He start second in 2013 and seventh in 2014.
This season, Munoz hasn’t gotten off to a great start in the IndyCar standings. He currently sits 11th in the standings with 101 points, but he has yet to crack the top 5 in any of the five races and has finished outside the top 10 three times. Munoz is still seeking his first-ever IndyCar victory of his career.
