Honda Indy 200 Predictions
The IndyCar Series returns to action this afternoon with the running of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Here’s the drivers we like to contend for the victory today.
The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio is a race held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. It is a 202-mile race that will do 90 laps around the track. The race takes place today at 3PM ET and will air on CNBC. According to oddsmakers, both Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon are co-favored, with each getting 3/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Will Power (6/1) and Alexander Rossi (13/2).
52304 Scott Dixon 3/1
Dixon is five-time winner of this event, last claiming the victory in 2014. He also comes into today’s race as the points leader in the 2018 season. Dixon has grabbed three wins on the year and three other top-3 finishes. He has been the steadiest driver in the series this year and now comes to one of his best tracks. I think Dixon will be the man to beat today.
52300 Josef Newgarden 3/1
Newgarden is the defending champion of this race and he is chasing Dixon in the point standings. He has three wins in 2018 and has finished in the top 10 in all but three races this season. If Newgarden is going to be able to catch Dixon in the standings, he is going to need wins. There is a lot of points to make up.
52313 Simon Pagenaud 7/1
Pagenaud won this race in 2016 and he comes into today needing a spark to his season. He has finished in the top 10 in nine of the races this year, but only cracked the top 5 on two occasions. Pagenaud needs a win to make any jumps in the standings. He has won multiple races in each of the last two years and is seeking his first win of 2018. I think it can come today in Ohio, where he has finished in the top 4 in the last three years.
