The IndyCar Series will wave the green flag on the ABC Supply 500 later today. Here are some drivers we think will contend for the victory.
The ABC Supply 500 is a 500-mile race that is held at Pocono Raceway. The race takes place today at 2PM ET and will air on NBCSN. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Helio Castroneves, Will Power and Scott Dixon are all 4/1 co-favorites to win this event.
Scott Dixon is one of the co-favorites that I like today. He is a former winner of this race, claiming the win in 2013. He also has been a very consistent driver in the series this year. Dixon has only finished outside the top 10 once this year. Dixon has one win and three runner-up finishes as well. His consistency always puts him near the front of the pack and that is something that will eventually lead to wins.
Josef Newgarden is the hot driver in the series right now and he comes into today’s race with 8/1 odds. He has picked up a victory in the last two races, giving him three on the year. The wins have also propelled him into first place in the point standings. Now Newgarden comes to a track where he finished fourth a year ago and second in 2015. I like the way things are shaping up for him this afternoon.
Simon Pagenaud is a dark horse tonight with 15/1 odds, but I think there is a lot of value there. Pagenaud has 10 top-5 finishes this season to go along with one win. That consistency is hard to ignore. He puts himself in position to win late, he just hasn’t been able to get to the very front quite enough. Still, he has 15/1 odds and has finished in the top 7 of this race three of the last four years. I think there is a lot to like about him tonight if you are looking for a big payout.
