Grand Prix at the Glen Predictions

The IndyCar Series waves the green flag on the IndyCar Grand Prix at the Glen later today. Here are the drivers we think will contend for the victory.

The IndyCar Grand Prix at the Glen is a 204-mile race that will be held at Watkins Glen International. The race takes place today at 1:30PM ET and will air on NBCSN. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Will Power is the favorite, as he has +280 odds. Other short odds to win are Scott Dixon (3/1), Josef Newgarden (7/2) and Simon Pagenaud (7/2).

Bet on IndyCar Grand Prix at the Glen

Josef Newgarden got us a win last week and we are going to stick with him today. Newgarden is by far the hottest driver in the series right now as he makes a push for the points championship. Newgarden has won three of the last four races, while finishing second in the other. He has placed in the top 2 in six of the last eight races overall. Now he comes to a race where he placed second a year ago. He’s our pick as the driver to beat today.

Scott Dixon has the best history of any driver in this event. He is the defending champion and a four-time winner, also claiming the checkered flag from 2005-07. Dixon was in a bit of a funk, finishing outside the top 5 in four straight races, but he bounced back last week by finishing in second place. That could help him get back on track and push for a fifth win today.

Helio Castroneves has 7/1 odds for today’s race, but we like those odds for someone of his ability. Castroneves was third in this race a year ago and he is third in the point standings right now. With two races left, Castroenves needs to make a strong run to have any chance at winning the championship. He is coming off a fourth-place finish last week, but needs to find the checkered flag today. His desperation mixed with his longer odds makes him an intriguing play.
