Phoenix Grand Prix Picks
The 2018 IndyCar Racing Season continues tonight with the running of the Phoenix Grand Prix. Here’s some drivers we like to contend for the win.
The Phoenix Grand Prix is a 255-mile race that will be held at ISM Raceway. The race takes place today at 9:40PM ET and will air on NBCSN. According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud are the co-favorites in this race, as each is getting odds of +550 to win. The other short odds to win are Scott Dixon and Alexander Rossi, who each have +600 odds to win.
Bet on IndyCar Odds for Saturday, April 7, 2018
90113 Simon Pagenaud +550
Simon Pagenaud won this race last year as part of a great season that saw him finish second in the point standings. Along with last year’s win, Pagenaud was second at Phoenix in 2016. He is known for fast starts in the series, as he opened 2016 and 2017 by finishing in the top 5 in all five races. That included four runs and three runner-up finishes over 10 races. I like Pagenaud to have another strong run tonight.
90104 Scott Dixon +600
Scott Dixon is a former winner of this event, claiming the victory in 2016. He also finished fifth last year. Dixon is coming off a third-place finish in the 2017 IndyCar standings. He opened the year by finishing sixth at St. Petersburg, but that hasn’t been a great track for him. Look for him to bounce back tonight.
90100 Josef Newgarden +850
Josef Newgarden finished the 2017 season on a tear, leading him to the IndyCar championship. This season, he started with a seventh-place finish at St. Petersburg, but I think he will bounce back tonight in Phoenix. Newgarden won four races a year ago and was second in four others. He knows how to get to the front of the pack.
